Our Story

Steadfast Farms didn’t happen overnight. It was built through hard work, commitment, and a clear standard of doing things the right way.

Hear directly from our founder:

How It Started

Steadfast Farms was founded on principles of service, commitment, and doing things the right way. What began as a small operation raising live game birds has grown steadily through hard work and a focus on quality.

Now entering our 10th season, that same foundation still drives everything we do.

Where We Came From

Steadfast Farms wasn’t built on generations of farming, it was built from the ground up.

Jared and Aaron came into agriculture as first-generation farmers, learning the work through hands-on experience, persistence, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

From inner-city backgrounds to building a working farm and processing operation, this has never been about taking the easy path, it’s been about building something real.

Today, both live and work on the farm full-time, continuing to grow the operation while holding the same standards that started it.

Growing the Operation

Over the years, Steadfast Farms has expanded both in scale and capability:

  • Raised up to 16,000 game birds annually including pheasant, chukar, and quail

  • Expanded into meat and egg production, including over 5,000+ coturnix quail

  • Produced thousands of chickens and turkeys annually

  • Continues to evolve operations to meet demand and improve efficiency

This growth reflects the standards we hold and the trust we’ve built.

Growth hasn’t come from cutting corners it’s come from doing things the right way, consistently.

Building Something Bigger

In 2023, Steadfast Farms took a major step forward:

We opened Connecticut’s only USDA-inspected poultry slaughter facility, and one of only a few in New England serving independent farms.

Since then:

  • We’ve expanded to serve over 180 farms across the Northeast

  • We’ve continued to grow our capabilities year over year

  • We’ve positioned ourselves as a trusted partner in the regional food system

Setting the Standard

Steadfast Farms is not the biggest operation, and we’re not trying to be the cheapest.

We focus on being the highest-value partner in the food chain.

That means:

  • Maintaining high standards in everything we do

  • Earning certifications that reflect our commitment:

    • Certified Humane (Animal Welfare Approved)

    • Certified Organic slaughter and processing

  • Working with organizations like UConn Extension

  • Speaking and contributing to the broader agricultural community

What’s Next

We continue to evolve and build for the future.

From new product development to the launch of our HARVEST Unit (Hands-on Agricultural Resiliency Vehicle for Education, Sampling, and Training), we are expanding how we serve customers, support farms, and grow the business.

What This Means for You

You are now part of a team that is building something real.

Every role contributes to:

  • The quality of our product

  • The strength of our reputation

  • The future of this operation

But it goes beyond that.

The work we do here translates into thousands of birds and hundreds of thousands of pounds of food that feed people across our communities.

What we produce doesn’t stay here it goes to families, customers, and partners who trust us to do things the right way.

That means every step matters.

The way you handle your responsibilities directly impacts the safety, quality, and integrity of the final product.

The same standards that built Steadfast Farms are the ones we expect every day.

A standard we hold ourselves to:

We know from raising our own flocks the hard work that goes into animal care, stewardship, and months of planning and execution.

The end customer only sees the final product that leaves this facility.

Our job is to make sure our work reflects the hard work of the farmers we serve—from egg to plate.
